You will need a plastic spoon, olive oil, dish soap and a large bowl. First, wash the mason jar in the dish washer. This will help remove food remains. Fill a large bowl with warm soapy dish water. Submerge the mason jar in it and make sure that the label is fully submerged. Leave this for 1 hour or longer.

After the amount of time has passed, remove the paper label. Next add olive oil to the glue remains on the jar. Use a plastic spoon to scrape off the glue. A plastic spoon will prevent the jar from being scratched. Wash the jar with soapy water and scrub off any remains with a scouring pad. Rinse the jar and wipe it dry. It should now be ready for use.
