How to Clean Mason Jars

How to Clean Mason Jars

A lot of food products come in reusable mason jars. To get the most out of them the mason jars need to be cleaned efficiently. The dish washer often can’t remove the outside label from the jar and it can be a time-consuming task to remove all of it. Thankfully this is a simple method to effectively clean and remove labels from mason jars.

You will need a plastic spoon, olive oil, dish soap and a large bowl. First, wash the mason jar in the dish washer. This will help remove food remains. Fill a large bowl with warm soapy dish water. Submerge the mason jar in it and make sure that the label is fully submerged. Leave this for 1 hour or longer.

After the amount of time has passed, remove the paper label. Next add olive oil to the glue remains on the jar. Use a plastic spoon to scrape off the glue. A plastic spoon will prevent the jar from being scratched. Wash the jar with soapy water and scrub off any remains with a scouring pad. Rinse the jar and wipe it dry. It should now be ready for use.
