Tile Grout Cleaning – Cleaning Hack

The tile grout is an area that had dirt building up in it over time. If left for too long these areas can get dark, discolored and even black in color. Bathrooms and kitchen tiles have larger dirt build up because of exposure to damp conditions and food. Cleaning them with regular methods can be tiring and frustrating. Luckily there’s a simple way to clean fast and effectively.

You will need: a squeeze bottle, a tooth brush, borax 6 g/100 ml, baking soda 17 g /100 ml, washing soda 9.6 g/100 ml, vinegar and 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide. Measure and mix the borax, baking soda, washing soda and hydrogen peroxide in the squeeze bottle. Mix until the solution is clear.

Sweep the tile area you will be cleaning. Apply the cleaning solution to the grout areas and wait 30 minutes. After the time has passed, scrub in the solution using a toothbrush. Rinse the grout with vinegar after. Regular water can also be used if you don’t have vinegar to rinse with.

This treatment effectively cleans tiles as well as remove mold that may have developed. This treatment should be once every 6 months to maintain the tiles. Traditional methods take longer and don’t have satisfying results.
