How to Clean Stainless Steel Sink Stains Naturally with Baking Soda & Vinegar

Properly washing your kitchen sink is a housecleaning essential. Dishes get washed here and much food preparation happens here. If it’s improperly cleaned bacteria can proliferate and mould can potentially grow. The sink doesn’t need cleaning too often but it requires careful cleaning. Stainless steel sinks are especially prone to acquiring watermarks but there is an easy way to get rid of them.

For deep sink cleaning you will need baking soda, vinegar, paper towels and s.o.s steel wool pads. If you can’t get the s.o.s pads, regular scrubbing pads and Vim can be substituted. Start by wetting the sink surface with water.

Next, use the steel wool pads to scrub the sink surface and loosen dirt. Baking soda is used to deodorize and also provides additional scrubbing. Baking soda can also hinder bacteria and mould growth.  The baking soda and the steel wool cleaning solution should be rinsed out of the sink with water.

In the final step use paper towels to apply vinegar to the sink surface. This step essentially polishes and shines the stainless steel. The vinegar removes watermarks and residue from the cleaning solutions. Without this step residue and watermarks will be visible once the sink is dry.
