Getting started

Booking and pickup

How to book, and what happens on pickup day.

How does pickup work?

Book online or give us a call. We come to your door, roll up the rug and take it to our facility. When it’s clean, we bring it back to you.

Do I need to be home for pickup?

No, you don’t. You can leave the rug out for us, though do bear in mind that it stays in your care until we’ve picked it up.

Is pickup and delivery really free?

Yes. Rug cleaning pickup and delivery are free everywhere we serve. You pay for the cleaning, priced by the size of your rug, and any extra work you approve.

Which areas do you cover?

All of Toronto, including North York, Etobicoke and Scarborough, and the whole GTA: Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Thornhill and Markham, east to Pickering, Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa, west to Milton, and north as far as Stouffville, Uxbridge, Aurora, Newmarket, King, Georgina, Innisfil, Bradford, New Tecumseth and Orangeville. If your street isn’t listed, call (416) 939-7571 and we’ll let you know.

How do I get my rug ready?

Just clear small items off it so it’s easy to roll up. We move the furniture off the rug when we arrive, and there’s no need to vacuum first. One request: please don’t try to clean any stains before we come. A stain nobody has touched is the one we can remove most completely.

How long will my rug be away?

That depends on the rug and the work it needs. A regular wash usually takes about a week. Enzyme odour treatment can add another week, and stain treatment adds 1 to 3 weeks on average, sometimes longer for a stubborn stain.

How long does a rug take to dry?

Every rug is dried fully at our facility, indoors and without high heat, so it comes home with nothing left to dry at your end. Drying is part of the regular wash, which usually takes about a week.

Can you take more than one rug?

Yes. Tell us how many rugs you have when you book, and we’ll plan the pickup around them.

Can I call just to ask for advice?

Of course. Not sure what your rug needs, or what to do about a spill? Call (416) 939-7571 and we’ll give you our honest opinion.

At our facility

How we clean your rug

Away from your home, and washed to suit each rug’s fibres.

Where do you clean my rug?

At our facility, not in your home. We take the rug away, wash it there and bring it back to you.

What kinds of rugs do you clean?

Persian, oriental, wool, silk, cotton, flat-weave, synthetic, shag and hand-knotted rugs. Not sure what yours is? Most people aren’t. We check each rug before washing. See the rugs we clean.

How do you clean a rug?

We inspect it first: the fibres, the dyes, the fringe and any stains. Then we wash it to suit those fibres, rinse it and dry it fully, indoors and without high heat, before it goes home. Once it’s dry, the fringe gets extra attention too.

Can you clean a silk or older rug?

Yes, with a gentle touch. We look closely at silk and older rugs first, and if anything concerns us, you hear about it before we start.

Do you clean wall-to-wall carpet?

Sometimes. Area rug cleaning in Toronto is our main focus, so wall-to-wall carpet cleaning has very limited availability and priority goes to repeat customers. When a spot opens up, after a cancellation for example, we can take new clients. Carpet cleaning is a different service, done in your home, while rug cleaning happens at our facility. See in-home carpet cleaning.

Extra care

Stains, pet urine and odours

What we can do, and what to expect.

Can you remove any stain?

When nobody has tried cleaning it first, virtually all stains come out completely. Very stubborn stains are rare, and our stain promise* covers them.

Can you remove gum from a rug?

Yes, just ask. Mention the gum when you book or at pickup, and once we’ve seen it we’ll say whether it comes out in the regular wash or counts as an extra.

Can you get pet urine out of a rug?

Pet urine soaks deep into a rug, so we treat it as an extra step on top of a regular wash. We price it after we’ve seen the rug, and give you an honest idea of what to expect.

Just had an accident? Don’t clean it, and don’t worry. Roll the rug up and call (416) 939-7571, and we’ll come and pick it up.

My rug smells. Can you help?

Very likely. A smell usually comes from something in the rug, like pet urine, an old spill or damp. We’ll say what we think is causing it and what we suggest. Our enzyme odour treatment works on any type of rug, whatever the smell, and comes with our odour promise*. Read about pet odour or musty, mildew & flood smells.

What should I do right after a spill?

Lift off anything solid and blot once with a dry white cloth. Don’t rub it, and don’t add water or any cleaner, which on silk and viscose can do lasting harm. Then phone us.

Fringe & edges

Rug repairs

Fringe, edges, moth damage and holes.

Do you repair rugs?

Yes. Our trained technicians can repair and even fully restore area rugs. We look after loose or missing fringe, worn edges, moth damage and holes, and we can resize some rugs. Patching and reshaping (blocking) are done here too. We look at your rug first and suggest what makes sense.

Do you wash my rug before repairing it?

Yes, always. Every repair starts with a full wash, even on a fairly new rug. Loose fibres wash out and hidden damage, such as moth damage, comes to light, so the repair can be done properly. One pickup and one delivery covers both.

Should I trim loose threads before pickup?

Please don’t. Cutting or pulling loose threads can make the damage worse. Leave it be, and we’ll suggest what to do once we’ve seen it.

I’ve found moth damage. What now?

Tell us when you book. Bare or thinning patches in the wool pile are the usual sign. We’ll go through treating the rug and repairing the damage with you first.

Pricing

Prices and quotes

Priced by size, and the same for every customer.

How much does rug cleaning cost?

Cleaning is priced by the size of your rug. Extras such as stain treatment, enzyme odour treatment and repairs are agreed with you once we’ve inspected it, and what we agree on is what you pay.

Will you push extras on me?

Never. We only recommend what your rug needs, with zero pressure. If it would benefit from something extra, like stain treatment, we explain why and you decide. If it doesn’t need it, we’ll say so.

Can I get an estimate before booking?

Yes. Text photos and the rug’s dimensions to (416) 939-7571, or add the size to the booking form, and we’ll reply with an estimate. You’re welcome to call, too. We confirm the price once we’ve measured your rug.

Do I pay anything if I don’t go ahead?

Nothing. Pickup, delivery and your quote are free, and if you decide not to go ahead once we’ve looked at your rug, we simply bring it back.

What if you find something extra once my rug is with you?

We always call you. If you still want a regular wash, its price doesn’t change, and a charge you never agreed to is never yours to pay. We explain what we found, often suggesting a regular wash first to see how it goes. Silk and viscose are the exception: viscose stains almost always need stain treatment, and silk stains usually do. You decide, and nothing extra is done without your OK.

What is a super wash?

A super wash cleans your rug from both sides, so it’s washed twice. It can help a thick rug that hasn’t been washed in a long time. On a thinner rug it generally makes no difference, so we rarely suggest it. We only recommend what your rug genuinely needs.
