Rug odour removal in Toronto
Musty, mildew, smoke or just an old rug. Rug odour removal here is a full wash at our facility and an enzyme treatment that deals with the smell, not a cover-up.

Everyday smells
Not every smelly rug has met a pet
Damp, smoke and time do it too.
A rug that sat in a damp basement, spent a summer rolled up in storage or got wet in a leak can smell musty for months. Smoke and cooking smells settle into the fibres as well, and an old rug can simply smell old.

Musty & mildew
Musty and mildew smells
Damp is almost always behind them.
When a rug stays damp, mildew can grow in it. That’s where most musty smells come from, and if it’s left long enough, mildew can also mark and weaken a rug.
Where the smell needs it, we add enzyme odour treatment first. Then we wash the whole rug and dry it fully before it comes home, so no damp is left behind.
If mildew has already marked or weakened your rug, we call you before we start. If a regular wash is still what you want, that’s all we bill for.

Leaks & floods
After a water leak or a flood
Get it off the wet floor first.
If your rug got wet from a leak or a flood, lift it off the wet floor and let air reach both sides, then call us.
We look at the rug first and say honestly whether it can be saved, and if you’d rather not go ahead after we’ve looked, we simply bring it back to you.
If your rug is still wet, we can pick it up as it is, and the sooner the better. Call (416) 939-7571 to tell us about the rug and the water.

Smoke & old rugs
Smoke, cooking and old-rug smells
Smells that build up slowly.
Smoke from cigarettes or a fireplace works its way into wool and other fibres. So do cooking smells in an open kitchen.
A rug that has spent years in a busy home, or a long time rolled up in a closet, can smell stale even when it looks clean. We wash it fully at our facility and give you an honest idea of what to expect.

How we treat it
The same enzyme treatment as for pet odour
Treatment where the smell sits, then a full wash.
Musty, smoky or just old, these smells can get the same enzyme odour treatment we use for pet smells. The treatment goes on first, then the full wash, and together they go after the smell rather than hiding it under a perfume.
Enzyme odour treatment is an extra step, and always your decision. If the smell hasn’t gone when your rug comes back, that treatment is on us.*

Questions
Musty and mildew smell questions
What people ask us about damp, smoke, flood and old-rug smells, and what we tell them.
Can you get rid of a musty smell?
That’s what our enzyme odour treatment is for. A musty rug smell starts with damp, so we treat the smell, then wash the rug and dry it fully so no damp is left. If the smell is still there when your rug comes home, our odour promise* means that treatment is on us.
My rug was in a flood. Can it be saved?
It depends on how long the rug stayed wet after the flood, and on the rug itself. Lift it off the wet floor, then phone us. We look at it first, and you decide.
Can you remove a smoke smell?
Smoke clings to wool and other fibres. We wash each rug fully, and we’ll say what to expect for yours. If you choose our enzyme odour treatment, it goes on before the wash, and our odour promise* covers smoke too.
Is it the same treatment you use for pet smells?
Yes. It’s the same enzyme odour treatment, whether the smell comes from a pet, from damp or from smoke.
What does musty smell removal cost?
Cleaning is priced by the size of the rug. Enzyme odour treatment is an extra, added only if the smell needs it and only with your OK, so you pay what was agreed. Pickup and delivery are free.
