Viscose rug cleaning in Toronto
Viscose, also called rayon or art silk, looks like silk but behaves very differently when wet. Our viscose rug cleaning in Toronto starts by checking what your rug really is.
Silk or viscose?
It looks like silk. Water says otherwise.
Many rugs sold as silk, art silk or bamboo silk are really viscose, or rayon, spun from plant fibre. So art silk rug cleaning is viscose rug cleaning by another name.
Water is where the two part ways. A wet viscose rug can lose its sheen, change texture or hang on to a stain. So before we clean any shiny rug, we find out what it’s really made of, and if it’s viscose, it gets the careful handling that rayon needs.
Stains
A stain on viscose needs stain treatment
A regular wash won’t take a stain out of a viscose rug. It needs our stain treatment, an extra step that takes time: the treatment goes on, dries, and goes on again until the stain lets go.
Our stain promise* covers viscose only when nobody has tried to clean the stain first. If someone has, we may still get it out, but any harm done by that attempt is permanent and isn’t covered.
A spill at home?
Please don’t scrub it
Water and rubbing can mark viscose for good. Blot once with a dry white cloth, leave it, and call us first: (416) 939-7571.
Smells
Pet smells and other odours
Smells too: with our enzyme odour treatment, viscose rug cleaning comes with our odour promise*. For real silk, see silk rug cleaning.
